Display currency and payment currency can differ
European online stores do not all use the same currency. Converting prices into one display currency makes comparison easier, but the converted number may differ from what your payment provider ultimately charges. An offer shown as approximately €240 may still be charged in pounds or another currency. The euro amount helps you compare; it does not necessarily fix your eventual account debit.
Look at the conversion date
Exchange rates change. A comparison based on an older rate may be less useful when two offers are close in price. For illustration, a £200 product would equal €234 at a rate of €1.17 per pound. This is an example calculation, not a current exchange-rate quote. Check the currency shown at checkout before authorising payment.
Consider payment charges
Your bank, card or payment service may apply its own conversion rate or fees. Check its terms rather than assuming every payment method produces the same result. Use BuyScout’s converted prices as a comparison aid. Where offers are close, review the original currency, delivery cost and payment conditions before choosing the cheaper option.
